Trupanion Announces New Partnership with The Canadian Kennel Club

Trupanion, a Canadian-based medical insurance company for pets, announced a new partnership with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) in a company statement.1 This strategic partnership provides immediate coverage for new litters without breed restrictions or exclusions, which can often be the norm with other providers. So pet parents working through CKC have access to Trupanion’s lifetime support and coverage with as few pre-existing conditions as possible.

The CKC is the primary registration body for purebred dogs in Canada and currently recognizes 187 breeds. As a not-for-profit organization, the CKC is dedicated to encouraging, guiding and advancing the interests of purebred dogs and their responsible owners and breeders in Canada.1

“As a Canadian-based company, we are thrilled to partner with the CKC,” said Margi Tooth, president of Trupanion, in the release. “We know that puppies can be very feisty, which can often lead to costly trips to the vet. The best time to protect a dog is when it’s born, and we’re honored to be CKC’s chosen partner to offer its members the option of high-quality, lifetime coverage of their litters.1

With Trupanion, all pets get the same coverage, regardless of breed. For the first time, CKC members have access to unlimited Trupanion coverage with no payout limit for the life of the animal. Additionally, Trupanion is currently the only provider that can pay the vet bill at check-out.

As part of this partnership, CKC members also have access to Trupanion’s robust breeder support program. The Breeder Support Program provides immediate coverage for new litters coming home and is designed to give families, who typically spend months researching their breed (and breeder) of choice, even more peace of mind. ‘spirit. The program also offers starter kits for puppy buyers, a dedicated Trupanion account manager, and anonymized reporting data for breeders on the health and welfare of their litters.1

“Dogs are a lifelong commitment,” Jeff Cornett, CKC’s executive director, said in the statement. “The average lifespan of a dog is 10 to 15 years and we want owners to be responsible and ready to care for their dogs from puppyhood to old age.”

“We are delighted to partner with Trupanion who can help our breeders and their puppy buyers ensure their dogs are prepared for a long and happy life. Trupanion’s Breeder Support Program, their customer and pet-loving breeder support teams, and their commitment to helping responsible pet owners care for their pets is the perfect complement to our mission. Cornett continued.1
